AUBURN HILLS, Mich.
— Amazon will sell four Alexa devices starting in January for about $99, the online retail giant said on Thursday.
Amazon, whose devices can control TV, Spotify, Amazon Music, Amazon Shopping, Amazon Payments, Kindle, Fire tablets and Echo smart speakers, is also offering $199, $199.99 and $199 tablets that can control video and music, along with a $79 Echo smart home speaker that connects to Alexa and allows for remote control of appliances and lighting.
Amazon will also sell Alexa smart speakers that work with Amazon Alexa devices.
The Alexa devices work with Alexa and can control Amazon Video, Amazon Echo and Amazon Music.
Amazon said in a statement it has not yet begun selling the Echo and Echo speaker products, but is expected to start shipping the products in early January.
Amazon, which is developing a $5 billion wireless speaker that can interact with Amazon Echo devices, announced the devices last year.
It has not said how many devices it plans to offer.
